Getting to Cyprus

airliners.gifTraditonally you will of course fly here on possibly a cheap flight with Cyprus Airways although many people do arrive on package holidays.

You can fly to Cyprus from many European cities to either Larnaca or Paphos airports. Paphos is to the West, while Larnaca is to the East, serving mainly Aiga Napa as a resort. Limassol is roughly centred between the two right on the sea and has a very busy port area and large tourist area, situated mainly at the Eastern end of the town.

With ferries only usually operating limited services from Greece, your primary entry route to Cyprus will be by plane. Arriving at either Pafos or Larnaca airports, you are no more than about one hour from your hotel or apartment.

plane.jpgMost national carriers fly into Cyprus from destinations around Europe, with the flight from the UK being 4 to 4.5 hours. Last minute flights can be booked, but Cyprus is falling into the trap of charging far too much to get here, and it can be said it has had some impact on the numbers of tourists arriving as they have chosen better value destinations.

That is not to say good deals are not available, but as always, it is best to shop around.
